For transport to the historic center of the metropolis, participants in group tours usually use their own bus. For these buses, public parking spaces are reserved at the edge of their own historic center. In the city center you can also use car parks for individual transport by your own personal vehicles. Staff at the hotel reception will be happy to arrange a taxi. Guests choosing to use public transport can then choose from several options:

  • a) the fastest option - the city bus line No. 139 or No. 205 from the hotel to the Kačerov station with a subsequent transfer to the metro C. Exit station The museum of this metro line will take you to Wenceslas Square. The bus line leads through a new urban area.
  • b) Combined variant - the city bus line 253 from the hotel to the station Smíchovské nádraží with the possibility of choosing a transfer to metro B or to a surface tram. Metro B will take you to Karlovo náměstí. The tram combines the new urban economic and business center in Smichov with the historic center of the city.
  • c) variant of sightseeing - the line of the city bus No. 205 from the hotel to the historical part of Modřany, followed by a change to the surface tram in Modřany railway station. The ride runs along the right bank of the Vltava river to the city center, and there are significant historical and cultural sights and attractions in its route.

Originally a wooden castle, surrounded by many legends, was the seat of the first Czech king Wratislav. After the conquest of the Hussite, all the buildings were destroyed except for the temple and the Romanesque rotunda of St. Martina.

At the time of the French occupation, casemates were built in the valley of the fortress, underground masonry corridors with springs. Today there are original sculptures from the Charles Bridge.

The vast complex of castle palaces and church buildings was established in the 9th century. The extensive reconstruction of the whole area was carried out by Charles IV, another great change was brought by the Renaissance and the government of Rudolph II, which transferred its headquarters from Vienna to Prague, thus raising the city to European level. For example, a new palace wing on the northern side (Spanish Hall, Rudolf's Gallery). After the end of World War I and the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia, the Castle became the seat of the President of the Republic. Part of the castle complex is the St. Gothic cathedral.
