Welcome to Gavelstad Guesthouse

Gavelstad Gjestegård is a traditional hotel that has been run by the Myhre family for over 60 years. Since the summer of 2009, Anne Margrethe and Mangs Netskar have taken over today's Gavelstad Gjestegård. With a little renewal we want to continue the traditions. With a good and homely atmosphere and good Norwegian food we want to present our alternative.

In the meantime there have been guests of all kinds. Among other things, many Danes found their way here and were able to test the skis on Vestfold's first ski slope, which was built in Gavelstadåsen. From 1979 - 1997 it was the Summer School of Music in Gavelstad and in this context the concert venue in the barn was given the evocative name Carnegie Hall.

Over the years many people have laid their finstas here and celebrated weddings, confirmations and other anniversaries. Over time, the old farm building was expanded and now houses 40 overnight rooms with shower and toilet. Some rooms have 4 beds (bunk beds), these were mainly used in connection with bands, of which there have been many over the years.
We have a dining room with seating for 120 people and several meeting rooms.
We have pleasant living rooms suitable for large and small events. Today, mainly course activities take place here. Those who use us are companies, communities, clubs, bands, choirs, etc. Otherwise, parties, weddings, confirmations, day trips and meetings are arranged for teams and clubs.

We also make arrangements so that you can have dinner here on Sundays or lunch with friends or business associates on weekdays. With a little advance notice we can serve most things.
